Brief Abstract
This session will focus on creating and implementing online, blended and digital learning engagement and retention interventions that can be scaled at most institutions and sustained over time. Learn how a large community college crafted a virtual success coaching program to create a small school feel for its online students.
Extended Abstract
Every school aims to connect with online and campus-based students throughout their entire educational journey. Virtual Student Success Coaches can be that connection. Success coaches use a unique set of techniques to offer a holistic set of student supports to engage and retain students. During this interactive session, Success Coaches will share creative ways to use technology to engage students and how to create/use an LMS embedded early alert system. Some of the tools and resources within the online success toolbox will be shared. This will include a demonstration of NOVA’s Virtual Student Union (VSU).
