A discussion regarding how to bring a laboratory course online, why hands-on activity is essential, and an overview of SI curriculum and hands-on experiment demonstration.
Extended Abstract
Student demand for online lab courses has never been higher, but there remain concerns regarding how to translate a hands-on laboratory experience to an online format, especially for science majors. In this session, we will discuss the different options available for bringing an science laboratory online and the benefits of hands-on lab experiences for online students. We will then show how to quickly and easily implement an online lab with SI curriculums, followed by an opportunity for attendees to perform a hands-on lab designed to be performed at home.
