Brief Abstract

Last year we took you on a Journey highlighting the development if a course and curriculum model that allows Students to build out their own Social Learning Experiences using Virtual Reality to enhance engagement and enhance learning processes. This year we will continue the conversation with student outcomes and lessons learned using state-of-the-art web-based XR.

Presenters

Marie Vans is on the faculty of the San José State University, School of Information. She is also a senior research scientist at HP Labs in Fort Collins, currently working in the AI & Emerging Compute Lab where she is focused on developing virtual reality simulations for education, product introduction, and analytics associated with educational experiences in VR She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Colorado State, an MLIS from San José State University, and has more than 55 published papers and 35 U.S. granted patents.
For over 20 years, Mike has led Instructional Technology Strategies for the largest Technology companies. Helping guide direction of products, services and solutions for K12 and Higher Education in the Americas. Providing subject matter expertise, strategic guidance, programs & messaging to school districts, higher education institutions and policy makers. I also support speaking opportunities at education & policy summits and events
