Extended Abstract
The Online Learning Consortium (OLC) has partnered with the NSA (National Security Agency) STARTALK program to develop an innovative and creative approach to engage learners in digital and online settings in relation to STARTALK program’s critical language needs and cultural learning and in support of the program’s efforts to promote workforce development.
Through this program, the OLC will design and deliver a set of digital curriculum modules and learning experiences centered around critical language needs and cultural learning in service of federal workforce development, featuring engaging virtual escape rooms, interactive digital and print learning materials and artifacts, and the creation and curation of a digital library of interviews with STARTALK veterans and alumni and other federal workforce development professionals who utilize strategic languages in their careers.
Join us in this session to learn about OLC’s innovative approach to this project and also how well-designed escape rooms can be used as effective pedagogical tools.
