Extended Abstract

Over the last several years, online education has faced a lot of change. From beginning as an alternative for many students who were unable to travel to their physical institution, to being the primary method of education during the COVID-19 pandemic.  When the education system transitioned entirely online in 2020, institutions were faced with the questions of how to protect integrity on assessments and create a credible testing environment with everyone learning remotely. With millions of students being required to use software that was originally developed as an alternative, the remote proctoring industry was forced to make many changes and adaptations to meet the needs of students around the world.

Northeast Alabama Community College has used Proctorio since 2019 to protect integrity on their exams. As with many institutions, NACC’s usage has since increased, especially since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Judith Lea, Director of the Technology Learning Center at NACC, will highlight the decisionmaking that went into selecting Proctorio as their remote proctoring solution, how they utilize the software now, and how they hope to continue leveraging remote proctoring software in the future.

Join Judith Lea from NACC and Justin Depuydt from Proctorio for this session as they discuss the changes in remote proctoring over the years, the challenges the industry has faced, and where remote proctoring is headed. This session will give attendees a unique outlook on how community colleges leverage and benefit from remote proctoring software, and how their experiences are helping to influence the future of the industry.
